Publisher Description: The setting is the Vietnam war memorial. At one end of the wall, two army buddies reminisce about a friend they lost in the war, and how he had personally affected their lives. Further down the wall a woman talks to and remembers her brother, whose name is also on the wall. A warm, reflective mood is broken when a "vacationing" family invades the area, taking pictures and making insensitive comments. The family soon learns the difference between touring monuments and visiting/remembering loved ones.Topics: SIGNIFICANCE OF REMEMBERING, I.E., COMMUNIONCharacters: 3 MALES, 2 FEMALES, 1 CHILDParticipants: 6Author: Donna Lagerquist |
