Little ones play a dressed-up version of peek-a-boo in Marion Dane Bauer's board book Toes, Ears, & Nose!, illus. by Karen Katz. "Inside my mittens I've got," Bauer begins. Readers lift decorative pink mittens to find "fingers." Snow boots, earmuffs and a scarf hide other body parts; vibrant colors and patterns add pizzazz. Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

PreS-This lift-the-flap adventure is an introduction to various body parts, with fingers behind mittens, toes inside boots, two ears under a hat, etc. A multicultural crew of children with playful expressions on their faces is dressed in jeans, a coat, even sunglasses decorated in bright polka-dotted, striped, and flowery patterns; colors include hot pink, sunshine yellow, spring green, and ruby red. A cheerful board book to use with lapsit and toddler storytimes.-Olga R. Kuharets, Broward County Libraries, Fort Lauderdale, FL Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.

Baby/Toddler—Katz's sweet-faced babies are front and center in this oversize board book that reinforces body parts and the concepts of inside, under, over, beneath, and behind. On each page, little ones are asked to lift the large flaps to discover what is inside a girl's mittens, under a hat and scarf, and inside her mouth. The last page is a favorite blanket with the whole child hiding beneath. A perfect lapsit choice for getting dressed and undressed.
