Not many children's books encourage kids to stand on them, but this one does. Children's entertainers Hopwood and Kusters's first book features a central die-cut circle, as well as slim die-cuts toward the outside edges that create handles for kids to grip. As readers flip the pages, Flowers's high-energy artwork transforms the spreads into everything from a creek that needs crossing ("Place this book down./ Leap over the creek./ But watch where you're jumping./ There might be snakes, eek!") to a surfboard ("Now lie down on top/ and paddle the floor./ Jump on board/ and you're surfing to shore!"), all designed to gets kids moving. Rowdy cardio for kiddos. Ages 3–6. (May)
