Publisher Description:
There have been many books written on the subject of Afghanistan, which only tells half of the story, mostly by westerners who are retired CIA agents, State Department personnel, political science professors, journalists, or, more recently, U.S. military personnel who were deployed to Afghanistan following 9/11. Most of these books have been written honestly and with good intentions by their authors for the benefit and enablement of society to understand Afghanistan's ethnic groups, politics, and social issues. However, there has never been a book written on the subject about MYTHOLOGICAL AFGHANISTAN, to tell the full story. In order for one to write such a book, not only to understand Afghanistan but the people who struggle to survive there, one must not only be a native but be willing to talk about his (may) true love for America and western value, as well as his equal true love for the people in his native land, regardless of ethnicity, language, or religion. Having been born and raised in Kandahar as Pashton; being married to a Tajik of Kabul for more than 32 years; and, most importantly, having lived in America for more than 36 years-all have given me the experience and knowledge of not only understanding - as my native people will tell you, "You must be a native Afghan to understand the Afghans."- but to tell it like it really is so the world can understand my native people who have, and continue to be, grossly misunderstood and victimized for centuries.
