Publisher Description:
For a small-town conservative mayor and his liberal activist wife, politics, principles and personalities collide when the Blessed Virgin Mary appears on an underpass, a long-standing citizen decides to build an exact replica of Noah's Ark across from the State Forest, and their daughter makes a life-altering decision. One for the Ark was a Short List Finalist for the William Wisdom-William Faulkner Prize for an Unpublished Novel in both 2007 and 2009. When Walls Weep, excerpted in part from One for the Ark, was one of two finalists for The Florida Review 2014 Editors Awards.

Contributor Bio(s): Reed, Mary H.: - Ever since turning 40 a few years ago, Mary has been trying to become harder to introduce, and, at 65, she's been succeeding. Her conventional resume includes almost forty years of practicing law, first with Sidley & Austin and then with Winston & Strawn, two of the largest firms in Chicago. She was a partner at both in the advertising, trademark, copyright, entertainment and sports law areas, and retired in 2015, giving her more time to write, do community service and pursue hobbies such as golf, sailing, tennis and bridge. Mary was raised in Crystal Lake, Illinois, then a small town forty five miles from Chicago. Her mother was a librarian and her father a PhD in chemical engineering, and that should explain everything.
