Publisher Description:

Centuries before the Spanish and other Europeans immigrated to the shores of North America, the continent was populated by numerous tribes of Native Americans, frequently referred to as "Indians." These were indigenous peoples who had lived for hundreds of years in harmony with the land and animals. It was the land itself that prompted the ongoing struggle for control and ownership between Native Americans and the "new arrivals."

Throughout the 1800s, despite general ill-will between the races, pockets of cooperation and individual friendships came to exist which helped to foster mutual respect among the peoples.

Child of the Wind is a tale of just such a friendship, allowing us a glimpse of history and heritage, as well as understanding and hope that we may carry forward.
