Publisher Description: Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. A tornado is broadly defined as a violently rotating column of air, in contact with the ground, either a pendant from a cumuliform cloud or underneath a cumuliform cloud, or visible as a funnel cloud. For a vortex to be classified as a tornado, it must be in contact with both the ground and the cloud base. "Tornado" refers to the vortex of wind, not the condensation cloud. This book studies definitions of tornadoes including the cumulonimbus cloud, the Bernoulli's principle, tornado outbreak sequence, and the May 1896 tornado outbreak sequence. Project Webster represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Project Webster continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. |
