The motto of the Camp Fire Girls, "WoHeLo," was also the name of the Gulick's summer camp on Lake Sebago, ME. It stood for "work, health, love." Contributor Bio(s): Gulick, Luther: - Dr. Luther Halsey Gulick founded the Camp Fire Girls in 1910, along with his wife and a small group of educators. A sister organization to the Boy Scouts of America, the Camp Fire Girls were incorporated in 1912. Gulick, an advocate of physical fitness for young people, also had a role in helping found the Boy Scouts of America and played an important part in the early development of the YMCA.
