Publisher Description:

Life on a small farm on the Bruce Peninsula is full of adventures and ups and downs. Debbie and her sisters learn how to live happily together by discovering certain truths-Mom has eyes in the back of her head, never tattle-tale, sing loudly even if you can't carry a tune, and have faith.

Debbie is the fifth child in a family of all girls-seven of them The story is about how the family engages in the challenges of living and working together. Eight-year-old Debbie learns how to drive a tractor, build a load of hay, and comes face-to-face with a rattlesnake.

Debbie has no electronic devices; in fact, her family doesn't even own a TV She and her sisters entertain themselves on the farm with simpler things. Still, she is much like you... she wants to be good, but she doesn't always get it right.

About the Author:

Donna is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was motivated to write this book because of the fascination her grandchildren had with the stories told here. She and her husband, Murray, have a small mixed farm near beautiful Meaford, Ontario. This story is loosely based on her own childhood experiences growing up on the Bruce Peninsula in a family with seven girls.
