Publisher Description:
Lemuel Gulliver always dreamed of sailing across the seas, but he never imagined the places his travels would take him. His adventures could be the greatest tales ever told, if he survives long enough to tell them. These reader-favorite tiles are now updated for enhanced Common Core State Standards support, including discussion and writing prompts developed by a Common Core expert, an expanded introduction, bolded glossary words and dynamic new covers.

Contributor Bio(s): Swift, Jonathan: - Jonathan Swift was born on November 30, 1667, in Dublin, Ireland. His father had died several months earlier, and his mother decided Swift should be raised by relatives. Growing up, Swift enjoyed reading and writing. In 1682, he graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, and then traveled to England with dreams of becoming an important church member. He soon returned to Ireland, however, to continue his education and eventually become the dean of St. Patrick's Cathedral. In the meantime, Swift never lost his love for writing. In 1726, he published Gulliver's Travels, a story that is still popular today.Martin, Cynthia: - Cynthia Martin has worked in comics and animation since 1983. Her credits include Star Wars, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman for Marvel Comics and DC Comics, in addition to work as a storyboard artist for Sony Children's Entertainment and the Krislin Company. Cynthia's recent projects include an extensive series of graphic novels for Capstone Press and two issues of Blue Beetle for DC Comics. She also illustrated the book Alley of Shadows, published by Stone Arch Books.Lemke, Donald: - Donald Lemke works as a children's book editor. He has written dozens of all-age comics and children's books for Capstone, HarperCollins, Running Press, and more. Donald lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with his beautiful wife, Amy, toddling toddler, Cleo, and a not-so-golden retriever named Paulie.Fuentes, Benny: - Benny Fuentes lives in Villahermosa, Tabasco in Mexico, where the temperature is just as hot as the sauce. He studied graphic design in college, but now he works as a full-time colorist in the comic book and graphic novel industry for companies like Marvel, DC Comics, and Top Cow Productions. He shares his home with two crazy cats, Chelo and Kitty, who act like they own the place.
