Publisher Description:
Introduction: This book is a collection of Daniel Nie's representative artworks from 1980 to the present. We have arranged the book into sections to capture the three main stages of the artist's personal and artistic evolution. As Daniel describes these stages, "From age 20 to 30, I was still mainly involved in my schooling. I thought I was a smart young man, but all I really did was crawl slowly along in a straight line. "It wasn't until my next decade, from age 30 to 40, that I discovered how ignorant I was. Through that period, the real world taught me some practical knowledge that enabled me to move away from my straight line and build my life and career toward a higher plane. "In the period from age 40 to 50 to the present, I feel I have gained the ability to think in a way that allows me to see the world with the full perspective of three dimensions." Indeed, Daniel Nie sees the world from all perspectives. His view of the world comes through in his artworks, poems, and short essays. We sincerely hope you enjoy this collection of the essential works of artist, Daniel Nie. Serica Press Spring, 2013
