Hanakia is an ethnic region in central Moravia in the Czech Republic. Although these works are known as operas, they are much closer to be called singspiel. Long after its genesis they were popular and preserved in folk songbooks. For this book I chose two operas "Jora and Manda", and the second work "Marena and Kedrota". The village teacher Josef Pek rek (1758-1820) composed both operas. Libretto was writen by prior of Premonstratensian monastery Josef Mauritius Bul n (1744-1785). Have a nice experience with the music of classicism, which has its roots in folk music. |
