Publisher Description: In this little guidebook I take you on a walk around the area of Piazza Navona in Rome. In Rome, we call this area the Centro Storico, the historic center. This is, at least according to me, the most picturesque area of Rome. You find many world famous buildings and squares, but also small cobblestone streets and houses in the beautiful colors of Rome (yellow, red and gold). Often the main squares are filled with tourists, but if you walk just a few streets away, you will find yourself relatively alone. Remember that most tourists take the same streets to go from highlight to highlight. A little walk around can make a big difference. On this walk, I let you relatively free. Rome is best discovered by a typical Italian passegiata, a gentle stroll. I will show you on some small maps where the different highlights can be found. You can follow my route, or just find your own way from piazza to piazza and church to church. |
