Publisher Description:
When it comes to artificial intelligence, the future is now. Amazon and Netflix already suggest things you might like based on your past interactions. Soon a store might suggest a shirt in your favorite color when you walk in the door. Cars can brake automatically when they sense a potential accident, and fully self-driving cars are on the horizon. Young readers will learn about up-to-the minute AI, including some of the ethics surrounding AI. This high-interest topic will appeal to readers while also connecting to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) curriculum and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) related to applications of science. Go beyond the printed page with related videos in the Capstone 4D app for a truly augmented reading experience.

Contributor Bio(s): Enz, Tammy Laura Lynn: - Tammy Enz became a civil engineer because of her awe of the massive steel bridges that spanned the Mississippi River. She just had to figure out how they worked. Today, she still likes tinkering and figuring out how things work. When she isn't tinkering, she fixes up old houses and conducts experiments in her garden and kitchen. Most of all, she loves reading books about anything and everything and asking 'why?'Klepeis, Alicia Z.: - From jellybeans to strange snakes, Alicia Klepeis loves to research fun and out-of-the-ordinary topics that make nonfiction exciting for readers. Alicia Klepeis began her career at the National Geographic Society. Alicia's travels have taken her from Singapore to Sydney to Sumbawa. Everywhere she goes she samples the local ice cream, gum, and candy options. Alicia has written several books and magazine articles for many markets, and is currently working on several nonfiction projects on international food, cool inventions, and world cultures. She lives with her family in upstate New York.
