Publisher Description:
The first two books of the Felicia and Robin series bound together. Poison for a Poison Tongue Renaissance artist Roberto Robertini and his young apprentice Felicia are forced to leave Florence in a hurry. They think themselves lucky to find passage on a ship bound for England, but the voyage is made hideous by one of their fellow passengers, who goes out of his way to cause trouble, poisoning the trip with sneers, slights, innuendo and insult to all the other passengers. What with this unpleasant fellow and pirates too the trip could not get much worse. And then, murder. The poisonous Edward Marsh is killed with rat poison. The two artists must find out who has killed him, to free the other passengers and the crew from suspicion. The Mary Rose Mystery Artist Roberto Robertini, also known as Robin, and his apprentice Felicia run into Robin's old friend, Tom Wolsey, in Portsmouth. Thomas Wolsey, Dean of Lincoln and King's Almoner, has a problem; he has lost an ambassador. The ambassador turns up in an unexpected location and dead. Robin and Felicia must find out what is going on, to save Tom Wolsey, and by extension the young king, Henry VIII, from embarrassment. And as Felicia is growing up, she starts to make some personal discoveries as well.
