Eight years ago, she founded "Bed, Breakfast and Books," a summer institute for teachers and media specialists across the country. She lives with her husband, Conrad, in Bradenton, Florida.

About the Illustrator: Jane Monroe Donovan enjoyed sketching as a child, and one of her best-loved gifts was a book of Norman Rockwell paintings given by her parents. She is a self-taught painter whose favorite subjects are people and nostalgic scenes. Jane and her husband, Bruce, live in Michigan with their two sons, Ryan and Joey.
