She has worked as a legal secretary, a childminder, nursery assistant, and as an accommodation provider for fostered teenagers. She attributes former health problems to not eating properly as a child, thus many of her books are aimed at encouraging healthy eating and have received positive feedback from Jamie Oliver's team. In addition several of them raise money for various charities.Weston, Simon: - Simon Weston C.B.E. is a Falkland's War Veteran, author, public speaker & charity supporter. In 1982 he was aboard the Sir Galahad when it was destroyed at Bluff Cove in the Falklands Islands. He suffered 46% burns to his body and went on to have numerous operations. He is a much-loved public figure, actively working for many charities. Simon is trustee of the charity Care After Combat, and kindly provided the foreword for the book My Great Grandad was a Soldier, by Rosita Bird.
