Iran has been in the news quite a lot of late and the threat to economic well-being of the world seems to hinge on whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open. I decided to take a look at all the ships that Iran has, how up-to-date they are and how the Iranians will likely use them. There has been a lot of noise about "coordinated swarm attacks" by hundreds of small boats, but I am of the opinion that this tactic will be of little use once the U.S. Navy gets serious and opens up a can of RAID on those small boats. Some of those small boats will get thru, but the majority of the sailors in those small boats will regret they got out of bed that morning. I suspect the fighting will all be over in a matter of hours, probably in the middle of the night.
Anyway, check out the book, look at the pictures and read the specs and I am confident you will come to the same conclusion I did. The Iranians are wasting their time and in the end they will pay dearly for their offensive strategy. The Iranians will strike first, the U.S. Navy will finish it.
