| Publisher Description: I've written over a hundred songs, but these are among the best of them. They are inspired by great performers, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and also the great athlete Michael Jordan. Sometimes when I write songs, I meditate quietly, and think about some of the great artists of our time. These songs are the result of such meditations. "Champion": Before Michael Jordan became 6 time NBA Champion MVP, he was cut from his high school basketball team... He could have quit. No one would have blamed him. He could have joined a gang. He could have purchased a gun and shot the coach, etc... But what did Michael Jordan choose to do instead? He chose to believe and follow the vision only he could see for himself at that time. "It's My Heart": I was daydreaming about Elvis and his wife, Priscilla... I envisaged him softly composing this song as he was remembering Priscilla walking out of his life... Then I wondered what would have happened if Elvis & Roy Orbison got together to write such a song... "Dance With Me": Roy Orbison wasn't just a musician, he was a magician. His songs painted mesmerizing pictures & feelings which were visceral & vivid. I imagined asking him to help me write a song, and what came to mind was a beautiful nightfall scene, young single Roy with his girlfriend strolling on a curved sidewalk by a quiet pond, the full moonlight dancing on the calm ripples of the peaceful water. The smiles on the smitten couple were as bright as the stars. This was the night Roy would propose to his wife to be... |
