Publisher Description:
All praise be to Allah alone, may His peace and blessings be upon his messenger and bondman our prophet Mohammad, his family and his companions Allaah has declared Usury haraam and made business permissible. Usury is detrimental to the economy and also oppressive to the society. The society is held hostage by the banks and other institutions as they need to pay a higher amount then they have borrowed. This also harms the economy since through borrowing costs for businesses increase and consumer demand in relatively less. With less demand for the products and services the economy actuals shrinks. Also with high interest rates it causes the currency to superficially increase its value thus making exports expensive and imports cheaper. This also reduces the competitiveness of the economy so therefore there are many reasons that indicate the detrimental effects of interest rates. Islaam is a complete way of life, the Creator of the heavens and the earth with His Complete wisdom and complete knowledge has legislated the usury to be impermissible. This treatise looks at the proofs from the Quran and the Sunnah to refute the basis of usury based transactions. It is authored by the former Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Abdul Azeez bin Abdullah bin Baz.
