Publisher Description:
Is there a woman who has had such remarkable Christ-like influence? Yes there is, for who would not pay tribute to MARY and to millions of loving mothers, my mother included. Is Mother Teresa beatified? She is. Mother Teresa is respected and honored for being a good and a holy person. Is Mother Teresa canonized as a Saint? She was, and indeed she is canonized, which is to say recognized by the Catholic Church as a saint, on September 4th, 2016. How could such an honor of Sainthood be denied to one who exemplifies such love and concern? But wasn't Mother Teresa already a saint prior to canonization? And the answer is "Yes " For millions, Mother Teresa was and now is remembered as the sainted, diminutive woman who cared for the leper and others who were sick, fed the starving, clothed the naked, championed the right to life of the unborn, and reached out to help the widow and orphan. Without question, she is Matthew 25 worthy to be on Christ's right hand. No doubt in heaven she is a glorious SAINT. As witness, we speak of her boundless charity and we hold up her banner of love to the world. If we too want a place on Christ's right hand when he comes, if we too want to go to heaven where she is, we only need love and serve the one nearest to us as she did My admiration for Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity is extreme. Only when we have died and meet her and them in heaven will we begin to understand their diamond faceted character and contribution to us all. This work is dedicated to those who want to follow Jesus Christ as he is manifest in Matthew 25, who desire to care for the poor and the needy in some small way Obviously, this little book contains but a very small fraction of her lifetime of deeds and words. It does include an outline of her life, many of her thoughts, with several stories of her service. Regarding sources, I have searched multiple sources for the facts about Mother Teresa and for Mother Teresa's quotes and stories. They are set forth in the text. Some quotes I have simply attributed to Mother Teresa (ATMT). Our Savior Jesus Christ loved such that he healed the sick, raised the dead, fed the hungry, suffered in Gethsemane, suffered at the hands of wicked men, in the pit, at the hands of Roman solders, on his way to the cross, on the cross, with mockery and one source I read suggests he suffered even stoning. Yet he restrained himself from exercising his vast celestial power over legions of angels, voluntarily sacrificing his life for you and for me. His love for you and for me is so great that he chose to take upon himself our suffering including our disappointments, pains, sins, sorrows, and sicknesses. He overcame death and hell and he rose from the dead that we too might receive a resurrection, and eternal life, which is to say the quality of love and life that he leads, if we follow Him. This pure love Jesus Christ had and has for us is charity. The reciprocating pure love for Christ that we have for him is also charity. It is the pure, caring Christ-like love we extend to others as we reach out to help them. As Mother Teresa began her mission of charity in Calcutta, she became depressed because of the vast number of poor and needy confronted with her lack of stamina and resources needed to help them. She prayed and said she heard a voice saying, "Minister to the one nearest to you" and her sainted life is history. Minister to the one nearest to you and yours can be the same. Richard Linford
