This latter book, taken with Enigma, creates a single narrative about a folly so great that it threatens humanity's future, yet people are blind to this even though the evidence for such is all around: as the book says, "Nature dies before us, yet few notice this." And the book contains a message that this does not have to be so and what we need to do is to acquire the knowledge, the sophistication and the wisdom to reap the benefits from religion and science without these things destroying us. |
