Publisher Description:
Achieving food security through increasing productivity in the agricultural sector remains the major challenge for many Sub Saharan African countries. The iconic opportunity in this regard is the fact that various development agencies are producing and disseminating packages of improved agricultural technologies to producers. Many of the practitioners, however, often fail to study and understand the extent to which the components of their packages are adopted. Apparently, making technologies to fit to the complex and diverse agricultural problems of the country requires moving beyond on station tests and learning from the target people themselves. This book examined the intensity and factors of adoption of improved common bean production package in Habro district West Hararghe zone of Oromia region, Ethiopia. The discussion should provide stakeholders such as; Social organizations, Rural and agricultural development bureaus, Agricultural research centers and Universities as well as related Government and Non Government agencies, a note on parameters for differential levels of farmers' technological adoption, some of the reasons, as well as suggestions for future consideration.
