The works of Joanna Pousette-Dart (b. 1947) are deeply rooted in the vast expanse of the American prairie landscape, without ever committing themselves to a strict objectivity. As early as the 1970s, the artist abandoned the rectangular form of her canvas in favor of dynamically balanced panels that open out to the respective space.
