Contributor Bio(s): Izumi, Kyoka: - Kyoka Izumi is one of the great figures of literature of the prewar period who lived from 1873 to 1939. He is usually known by his pen name, Kyoka, rather than his real given name, Kyotaro. He has written many previous books, including "The Holy Man of Mount Koya," "Kusa Meikyu," (Grass Labyrinth) and "Uta Andon" ('A story by lantern light' which was included in the second English volume of short fiction, "In Light of Shadows." |
