Publisher Description:
On July 10 2018, when Michael read the online news, all the 12 boys and their coach were extracted successfully by a team of the world's best divers, after being trapped in Tham Luang Cave, for 18 days, he felt this tingling irresistible urge to regale the complete story in its truest, organized and informative form. In a rush to publish the news the next day, some stories were published without checking the true facts thoroughly. Extra bits and pieces were added to sensationalize it.To dig into the truth and uncover more information, Michael visited Thailand, attended the cave exhibition, and interviewed divers, specialists, rescuers and volunteers. Additionally, he interviewed others through email, phone and face-to-face. He read the news and watched videos extensively to uncover the truth and to reconfirm it.To make the book as original as the massive search and rescue operation, Michael commissioned an artist to paint a colored painting showing the precise moment where the lost football-loving boys were found by a pair of British divers for the front cover and the female spirit that ruled the cave Jao Mae Nang Non (The Reclining Princess) for the back cover. He also commissioned an illustrator to draw over 30 black and white illustrations and maps so that readers can visualize and understand the story better.Coming from a South-East Asian background, Michael angled the book giving readers a twist of Thai culture and family as well as explain the worship of animism and Buddhism prevalent in South East Asia. He dwelled into animism so that readers can appreciate Jao Mae Nang Non. A background on the Golden Triangle where the marooned stateless boys came from gives readers an empathic perspective.Besides telling the story in its most original form, Michael analyzed various hazards of the cave, innovative rescue techniques and the survival techniques in a damped confined environment in a cave where oxygen level was plunging. Conscious Meditation techniques as taught by Coach Ake in the endangering moment are revealed here.In simple English, Michael wrote and organized the daring rescue story in an easy-to-read format spread over 200 pages. Every night with the accompaniment of piano music floating in the background, Michael penned the story in his balcony. In all, he took 5 months to complete the book."When the book was published in Amazon, I felt a great sense of relief. I was able to contribute, in a small way, to the rescue of 12 young boys and their coach by regaling the search and rescue operation that kept the world on tenterhooks," confessed Michael. His book is titled WILD BOARS LIVE TWICE as the young Moo Pa footballers cheated death once in this spellbinding search and rescue operation that kept the entire world glue to social media and online news. The twelve boys and their assistant coach have now a new lease of life to look forward."Michael Lum is a consummate storyteller. He is passionate about his work and the role of stories as teaching tools." Stephen C. Lundin, author of FISH "Michael is an empathetic and purposeful trainer who causes attitudinal changes in his workshops. He places a grain of sand in your oyster to irritate you and create a pearl." Dr Marshall Goldsmith, World's No. 1 Coach.
