Publisher Description:
The 2020 Calaveras Ranger District Camper Origin Study provides a quantitative analysis of origin data of campers on the Calaveras Ranger District during the 2020 camping season to determine the states, counties, and ZIP Code areas where campers originated for the federally managed campgrounds on the district. The data gathered came from over 4,300 Recreation Fee Envelopes collected from campers that were used to pay for the nights they camped on the district during the 2020 season. This study utilizes the same framework provided in the 2019 study, offers a comparison from 2019 to 2020, and gives insight into how COVID-19 impacted campground visitation. The specific information provided in this study may be used by land managers, county officials, and business developers and operators to create more accurate marketing, business, or operating plans and budgets. This study took place in the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest in California.
