If every saint had a guardian angel assigned by God to protect them, might not they also have a diabolical tempter assigned by the devil to lead them astray?In a sense, Satan's schemes never change: the devil is always and forever out to "steal, kill and destroy" (John 10:10). On the other hand, the devil's snares do indeed change: in the sense that they are tailored to the present generation. In other words, as the worldview or mindset of the present generation differs from those that have gone before; Satan's deceits are adjusted accordingly - to ensnare all the more surely. Satanic schemes - as described in the body of this work - are diabolically clever - but not altogether surprising. I am quite convinced from reading the emails in this collection that more will follow. |
