Publisher Description:
There are many things that are different in this world. There are different trees and plants with different colours of leaves and branches. There are many bodies of water that have different colours and interesting plants and animals inside. There is difference in the sky when it is day and when it is night. There is difference in all the animals and plants and there is also difference in you. There are lots of differences every where we look and go. And the difference in them all is what makes them special. And so, that also means you are special. In you and in each of your friends and in each person in your family. Each person that you see each day has something special in them. They have the power to be whatever they want to be.Just because you look different from others doesn't make you less special. It makes you unique. You can be what you want to be because you have a special gift in you. Dark skin and curly hair or light skin and wavy hair just shows the gift that is inside of you. Here is a boy called Ricky that learns of the gift that is inside of him. When he goes fishing with his father he learns that he could use whatever gift that is inside him to be just what he wants to be. So, his father and family helps him to know just what he could be when he grew up. There are a lot of things he could be and he wants to know them all. Little by little, after a fishing trip with his father at the pond and delicious fish dinner with his family, he learns that there are a lot of things he could be even with his dark skin and curly hair. Just like his Uncles and Grandpas, he knew he could be whatever he wanted to be when he grew up all with the help of the gift he had inside him that made him special.
