Contributor Bio(s):
Paul Galdone was born in Budapest in 1907. He was the winner of the Caldecott Honor and illustrated over three hundred books in his lifetime, many of which are classic retellings.

Reviewed by Horn Book Guide Reviews (Horn Book Guide Reviews 2012 Spring)
These two books from the 1970s appear in a uniform paper-over-board edition. Galdone was a refreshingly modest illustrator: his retellings are straightforward and his unassumingly loose-lined, color-separated pictures provide just enough embellishment. Plenty of white space gives the stories all the room they need. [Review covers these Folk Tale Classic titles: The Gingerbread Boy and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.]
