When Granny's apple pie is stolen by desperadoes, she picks up her gun and enlists them in helping her bake a new one. The two-color pencil illustrations are somewhat predictable. Mitchell is a dinosaur who decides to move, despite the efforts of Margo, his neighbor and best friend. The three-color art is simple, breezy, and right on target. Mitchell's story is fresher than Granny's. Copyright 1998 Horn Book Guide Reviews
