Contributor Bio(s): Kurtz, Stormy: - Stormy Kurtz was born in central Montana. She grew up on her parents' ranch in the Paradise Valley located near Yellowstone National Park. Her young adult years were immersed in ranch and rodeo culture. She later attended the University of Montana where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis on English and Journalism. After moving to Spokane, Washington, she raised her two sons, Buck and Skyler, as a stay-at-home mom. Eventually, she returned to college to earn a Master's degree in Literature. Stormy has enjoyed teaching English for 20 years at Spokane Falls Community College where she is also an Academic Success Coach for at-risk teens who are trying to earn their high school diplomas. She currently lives with her husband, Ron, on a small farm near Cheney, WA with their two horses, 25 chickens and one cat. |
