As poetry should, much of it rolls with recitation, like this passage, "While the roots of the tree had twisted, It was still growing toward the sky It struggles to find the fading light, So very much like you and I." Poetry is a subjective art, a glimpse into the soul that composed it. Within these poems, Jennifer Patterson explores love in its many forms, including religious and self. In all, this is an admirable book beautifully presented and edited, and a wonderful introduction of Jennifer Patterson and Joyanna Em's talents.
