Hazardous zones include: 0, 1, and 2 for gas environment and 20, 21 and 22 for dust environment and their corresponding equipment category 1, 2, & 3 gas and M1 & M2 for dust respectively. These zones in relationship to types of explosive atmosphere they form give rise to types of protection the facility and environs requires taken cognizance the type of gas or dust detection equipment.
