Publisher Description: Ruth Snyder is the owner of a local thrift store in Philadelphia, and she has noticed that a lot of her friends, whom she has known since childhood, are all dying for suspicious reasons. When Ruth brings her concerns about a possible serial killer to the police, they don't believe a word that she is saying. When Ruth is attacked and nearly killed in her store, detective Timothy Hodges, a personal friend of Ruth's, is then called as the first detective on the scene. When Hodges interviews Ruth in her hospital room the next day, she tells him that the person who had attacked her was wearing a jacket that resembles one owned by Matthew Fisher, a local Mulatto who the two of them both know, but Hodges refuses to believe that Matthew would ever have anything to do with the attack on Ruth, or the string of murders that she has been reporting to the police. Can detective Hodges get to the bottom of this case? |
