Her lifelong dream of writing a novel has now come to fruition, through Into the Abyss: Vault of Verona. Marissa is building on the success of her first novel with a second, Scourge of Scotland, due in early 2018. In addition to her fiction publications, Marissa has been featured in The Regionalist, a journal run by the Institute for Regional Security in Canberra. She has written on many subjects, including Australia's refugee responses and the influence of diplomacy in the Asia Pacific region. Her current Honours thesis addresses the radicalisation of young people through a historical approach to studying religious communities within Australia. As a high school teacher English and Legal Studies teacher, Marissa is passionate about literacy among our youth. She believes in hard work, consistency and determination, and she writes to provide a wonderful journey for her readers to enjoy.
