McCabe's monumental collection of postcards and photographs of Sussex County, collected over a period of nearly 20 years. Most of the photographs were made between 1860 and 1920 and reflect a time of growth and change in Newton's history. Additional images have been provided by Jan Gminder of the Nostalgia Shop in Newton, the Historical Society of Stillwater Township, and the archives of the New Jersey Herald. |

Contributor Bio(s): Gordon, Kate: - Kate Gordon and Wayne T. McCabe are active in the preservation of local history and share a life-long interest in the wonders of the past. Ms. Gordon currently serves as executive director of the Liberty Hall Foundation in Union, New Jersey, and Mr. McCabe is a National Park Service-qualified architectural historian with 26 years of experience in historic preservation. Their collaborative efforts have made Newton a valuable addition to the Images of America series and a treasure for generations to come. |
