Part first contains a brief relation of the sufferings of the people called Quakers in New England from the time of their first arrival there in the year 1656 to the year 1660, wherein their merciless whippings, chainings, finings, imprisonings, starvings, burnings in the hand, cutting off of the ears, and putting to death, with divers other cruelties, inflicted upon the bodies of innocent men and women only for conscience sake, are briefly described. In answer to the declaration of their persecutors apologizing for the same, 1659. Second part, being a further relation of the cruel and bloody sufferings of the people called Quakers in New England continued from the year 1660 to 1665. Beginning with the sufferings of William Leddra, whom they put to death. Due to the age and scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may be spotty, faded or difficult to read.
