Publisher Description: This standard general biography of Champlain, the founder of Canada, was issued previously in the famous Makers of Canada Series, which is now out of print, although still in frequent use in libraries. This is the first time any of the volumes has been published separately from the complete set. |
Contributor Bio(s): Dionne, Narcisse-Eutrope: - Narcisse-Eutrope Dionne (1848-1917) was a noted French-Canadian historian and bibliographer. He published a large number of historical works, the best known of which are his studies of Cartier and Champlain, and his four-volume Inventaire chronologique, an indispensable bibliography of the province of Quebec. Champlain was revised in 1926 by Ralph Flenley, Professor of History at the University of Toronto. |
