Apart from the last two, this selection also contains Moore's The Coming of Gabrielle and The Passing of the Essenes. EDWARD MARTYN was, with W.B.Yeats and Lady Gregory, a founder of the Irish Literary Theatre, the second production of which, opening on 9 May 1899, the day after Yeats's The Countess Cathleen, was his The Heather Field.
