Included in the book are stories about Cabeza de Vaca, Robert Cavelier de la Salle, Ellis P. Bean, Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, the Alamo, Goliad, San Jacinto, the Mexican War, Castle Perot , Dick Dowling, and Robert E. Lee.
