Publisher Description: This is the extraordinary story of the people with the vision to build not one, but a whole fleet of the world's biggest cruise ships, each bigger than the last. |
Contributor Bio(s): Curtis, Paul: - Paul Curtis was born in Cornwall UK and began contributing photos and articles to newspapers and magazines while still at school. Before he turned twenty, he took a job aboard a cruise ship as a photographer. Over the next six years, Paul mostly worked out of New York on ten different cruise ships before swapping his camera for a microphone and becoming an entertainment officer aboard the original Queen Mary Transatlantic Liner now preserved at Long Beach California, but without Paul as an exhibit! Following the Mary's withdrawal from service, Paul moved to Australia. Here he entered the business world before returning to writing and eventually establishing a magazine and book publishing company. His main interests are all things that float on water, from paddleboards to ocean liners, and his photography interests cover everything from the business and history to the pure joy of making creative images. His books include The Pacific Princess and A History of Professional Photography in Australia. A book on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships will be published shortly. He has a keen sense of humor and believes that even serious writing should be and can be fun! |
