It is written by his Great Grandson why also experienced the effects of war during his tour of Rwanda in 1995: he has also written on his Grandfather's experiences during the liberation of Bergen-Belsen in 1945. Denis Kelly went to war on the day his wife gave birth to a healthy boy and through sheer luck and good fortune did survive the war having experienced the horrors that were the Retreat From Mons, Ypres, The Somme, Langemarck, La Cateau, Loos, Messines, St Quentin and much, much more. This is an account of what he went through during four years of heinous tragedy.
