Publisher Description:

Brody is a licensed therapy dog, visiting people and offering comfort within his community. One of Brody's favorite jobs as a therapy dog is being a reading tutor at a local elementary school once a week. Over the course of an hour, four or five children visit Brody and read aloud to him. He lies quietly on his blanket and listens to the stories without interrupting, correcting or judging. It's a treat for students to see Brody each week. They often ask for an extra minute to pet Brody, see his tricks, rewarding him with pets and hugs for his great job of listening. Brody has to navigate the busy school hallways without chasing a runaway ball or following noisy students out to recess. Brody's biggest challenge is to win over the apprehensive child that does not want to sit on his blanket. Brody succeeds through patience, love and companionship that only a dog can provide.
