Publisher Description:
This is a book is about biblical marriage for those who are divorced or remarried. However, those of you who are single, again due to the death of your mate may benefit from the interactive search on the subject. This is not a theological treatise to advocate some doctrinal position on Biblical marriage, divorce and remarriage. Only the sincere individuals involved in the marriage/divorce/remarriage situation can know the real details of the matter and only they are responsible for their decisions. Brief reviews of various positions and commentaries are presented, but none promoted. This approach will not please everyone. The literary approach is more therapeutic than theological. I use an interactive teaching format and try to avoid academic jargon. The message is: Living single (again) following a divorce or death is both a great opportunity and a grave danger. You have a rare opportunity to really understand what God intended in biblical marriage, but at the same time you are a "street-wise" person threatened by both your past and future decisions. Your focus, whether unmarried or remarried, must be to please God. My purpose has been to offer encouragement to those of you who are single, again. You should not be made to feel like you are a second-class citizen in the Kingdom of God. Those of us in positions of religious leadership should be the first to welcome you as a sincere seeker after truth. We all must act with the compassion and accept the forgiveness of our Lord. None of us has the right or obligation on our own to speak or act for God. All of us must be conscientiously bound by the written word of God, and be subject to His divine justice, mercy, and forgiveness.
