A grass snake wound its way around the hanging bird feeder on the old fig tree and, in the heat of the midday sun, an iguana lazily warmed its scaly skin on a rock before scurrying back to its cool underground home. This story is set on a small Caribbean island in the Gulf of Mexico. The story, however, focuses on the actions of a group of people who live on the island. |
