Publisher Description:

We read stories of those who live in wild places and are connected to nature, being protected when a firestorm circumnavigates, one nurtured and well tended property, whilst eradicating the modern, edifice to ego, in a heart beat.

Nature heals, stirs depths of emotion, strips bare and heals again, without agenda. Respect, rather than fear is the key to connecting, empathically with her ever-changing cycles.

Sentient life in all forms is Penny Reilly's passion. Celebrating in words and photos, what inspires her, Unfurled is a magickal and oft, whimsical, poetic journey into reconnection with nature in the raw.

Unfurled

Leaves stir; a gentle wind blows after the storm

Rippling still waters across the ponds

Nothing fits the pattern of the once-time norm

Reeds rustle; bracken unfurls green fronds

Blackbird sings

His cry of triumph rings

Autumn-flavoured colours, float and spin

Summer's last days, reflect gold on my skin

Contributor Bio(s): Reilly, Penny: - Renowned clairvoyant and a teacher of the Western Mysteries at Daylesford School of Arcane Knowledge, Penny Reilly is an initiated Bard and Ovate in the Tradition of the Druid. Penny has a passion for the Old Ways of the British Isles; returning there this year to carry out research for her nonfiction books her second series 'Cloak of Magick' and a Cornish folklore volume, forthcoming. She feels that the gentle path of the Druid is the path to take for a sustainable future, connecting us to the land, no matter where we live on the planet. She describes herself as a 'nature writer'. Her poetry, in-spired by Nature, is her connection to her personal environment. Her own visionary experiences are very much a part of her storyline, poetry and lyrics ...this is her sixth published book. Her controversial series Silver's Threads is still gaining popularity and the poems in this little volume, in part are inspired by this five book fantasy work. Penny moved to Sydney, Australia in 1980 and to the central highlands of Victoria with her husband David, 20 years ago. They share space with an 'all sorts' terrier, an old tabby cat, a small flock of hens and a fat wombat fondly known as 'chocolat', who has adopted them. Keen gardeners, they are becoming self-sufficient on their beautiful rolling acres on the Great Divide; their blended mob of children are long 'grown and flown' the coop. Together they own Daylesford Tarot Readers, 'earthly rites bookshop' and Beyond the Gate Gallery and Nursery, which features Penny's other passion, photography.
