He also chairs the advisory board for a nearby college, and served ten years in leadership for Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Illinois, following a 13-year corporate career. Staal has published five previous titles, all through Harper Collins Christian Publishing / Zondervan: Lessons Kids Need to Learn (2012); Words Kids Need to Hear (2008); Leading Kids to Jesus (2006); Leading Your Child to Jesus (2006); Making Children's Ministry the Best Hour of Every Kid's Week (2004), co-authored with Sue Miller.
