Publisher Description:
Psychiatry can be defined as the science of reducing mental suffering and enhancing mental health. To date, the field has been primarily concerned with the first part of the definition. For example, in the Index to the Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud (19), the word "neurosis" has over 400 references. In contrast, "health" is not even listed. The imbalance tends to be true of contemporary texts, as well. This situation is understandable because psychiatry originated to deal with disordered function. The question, "What is the function of a healthy person?" which require the further question "What is the purpose of human life?" is not usually asked because it is assumed to be answered by simple observation of the everyday active ties of the general population 2 (18, p. 122) Arthur J. Deikman, M.DWe must not forget that human's soul is God's soul, and when we say God's soul that means its dimension is cosmic, eternal and it doesn't have an image by which it is recognized. If by chance it is identified by a label from this earthy world, that label might itself be the cause of its death. Consciousness on the other hand, it was supposed to maintain the primordial state of metamorphism and fluidity of the soul and not to become embedded in emotional forces. If however the state of consciousness-awake is transformed to the state of automaton, still further, if the power of self-intention is transformed to an indoctrinated consciousness followed by mechanical actions, what are left after are only depression, anxiety and so forth. Now the way we think about politics and the system, under which we live and influenced by, it is simply the result of the way we were shaped and the way we were indoctrinated in how to think about that system, and whether we are protagonists or antagonists; even when we are antagonist, our conscious revolt is itself preprogrammed. It is likewise with religion, it was supposed to free our minds from the idolatry of the institutions, it is itself characterizing us, not from its primordial concept per se, but because of a fabricated manmade dogma. In our current violent events, it is very hard for us to visualize the presence of these three prophets: Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (PBUT) within our political arena and their indubitable role, it is also very hard for us to see introspectively their frequencies-personalities within ourselves. This book serves as an embarkation on a life journey and invites the reader to discover his inner self through the personalities of these three prophets; the stages they went through during their lives, which are in reality our own stages. In a meanwhile, at the end of every chapter there is an introspective exegesis where the reader is invited to get into a deep scrutiny and analyze his inner psychic life.
