The idea of pagannurutan defines the directive force that provides the standard social influence in a certain society. The study of Pagannurutan represents the culture-based system of the society that the center of the life of women is still the family. Therefore, the Ilocano women reflect traditional value system sociological ideas such as pakikiramay, pakikitungo and pakikisama in its intrinsic nature of the ethical value of the society.Asal. It is the custom, heart, behavior and manners that deeply associated with the Filipino culture. It is not simply an intrinsic value but relies so much in the extrinsic value wherein the presence of specific cultural norms and beliefs (pakikiramay, pakikitungo and pakikisama) have been the basis of the moral value in the Ilocano women.Halaga. The ultimate dimension of halaga (worth/importance) is on the intrinsic value of self-worth which considers the personal development that construed on self-concept, self- esteem and the desire of appreciation and recognition.There are three relevant research studies on Cultural Value System of Ilocano Women that the MTB-MLE practitioners and teachers in the Department of Education in Ilocos Sur which served as the key informants and the focused group discussion which was also presented in the series of International Nakem Conference since 2013 in the cultural value system of the Ilocano society with the following research themes:1.Moral Value System of Ilocano Women in the 21st Century: A Case Study on "Pamatayan" System in the Philippine Society2.Filipino Value System of Asal: Its Social Language Analysis of Moral Standard of the Ilocano Society3.Cultural Value System of "Pagannurutan" in the Ilocano Women These social research studies have definitely given significant findings that generated important knowledge about the cultural essence on the value system of Ilocano women needed as reference materials in Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE), Philippine Culture and History, and social science subjects including the utilization of the ideas in crafting Gender and Development programs for the tertiary education.
